Winter elopement in the mountains of Austria
The elopement day
By the end of the year, I traveled to Austria for the most beautiful and romantic winter mountain elopement I’ve ever seen. I love snow for the same reason I love Christmas: It brings people together while time stands still. Our cozy couple lazily meandered around the snowy forest enjoying the crisp weather and the snowy wonderland! No one seemed to be in a rush to experience anything other than the glory of the day with each other. To me, that’s the recipe for the perfect wedding day – simply enjoy each other’s love and kisses!
An elopement ceremony in the last days of the year seems like the perfect way to celebrate a winter love. We’ve been so used in summer weddings and destination affairs all over the world we seem to forget the beauty that hides in intimate winter celebrations filled with love and the magic of snow!
The bride and groom
Nicole chose a bouquet with winter florals in cool shades and a dress with a warm woolen sweater wrapped around her shoulders – ideal inspiration for the brides living in cold climates! Vitali opted for a pale blue suit and a quirky bowtie! Adorable, right?
For the wild hearts out there, a winter elopement and exchanging vows in a snowy setting seems like a winter dream coming true. All the details were perfectly wintery and the frozen light made everything sparkle. Moreover, a walk in the forest, a wooden cabin, and frolicking in the snow gave us the sweetest portraits.
This elopement was such a refreshing break from summer weddings and sunshine. Don’t get me wrong, I simply love the warmer months and the sun but the winter light and the magical mountain atmosphere did something to my imagination! You could easily imagine that snow’s reason for being was nothing more than prettiness.
